Practice Notes & Schedule // Week of 5.25.26
nourishment
Through practice we cultivate discernment and awareness, using the myriad experiments and reference points of shapes, systems, techniques and modalities to get ourselves around ourselves. Finding perspective within our chosen boundaries, we move from feeling isolated, tethered, scattered, fixated, wired, tired — just generally a bit existentially disoriented, really — toward presence, easy and stable in the space of an hour, half an hour, even just a handful of breaths. Circumstance may shift the shape practice takes, but each moment within this container we devote ourselves to contributes to the realization of our wholeness.
Dood and water nourish our bodies. Love and tenderness nourish our spirits. Practice nourishes our being.
“Farmers guide the water; fletchers bend the arrow; carpenters carve the wood; good people fashion themselves.” — Dhammapada, Sutta 145.
